Thomas Hogarth House circa 1875

In front of this home at 58 Hogarth Avenue, on the northwest corner with Bowden Street, can be found this 2008 Heritage Toronto plaque produced with the Riverdale Historical Society. Here's what it says:

This rural-style house was built for Thomas Hogarth, a local school principal. Its original lot extended north to today's Wolfrey Avenue and included a carriage house. The home remained in the family for over 85 years. Later neglected, it was saved from demolition in 1974.
