In the former ticket booth of the theatre on the south side of Danforth Avenue just east of Greenwood Avenue can be seen this 2011 Heritage Toronto plaque. Additional photos and text about the theatre can be seen in several displays in the lobby. Here's what the plaque tells us:

The Allenby was designed in the Art Moderne style by noted Canadian theatre architects, Kaplan & Sprachman. Beginning in the mid-1970s, it enjoyed a revival as a repertory cinema named the "Roxy". When the site was redeveloped in 2010, the Allenby's façade was restored.
