Attached to this building on the southeast corner of Adelaide Street East and Sherbourne Street is this 2011 Heritage Toronto plaque. Here's what it says:

These two attached houses are rare examples of Georgian-style residences that used to be common in Toronto. They were built for Paul Bishop, a blacksmith and landlord whose shop stood across the street.
